Biography:
Prof. dr Lejla Terzić She is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Brčko. She was born on June 27, 1982, in Brčko, where she completed both elementary and high school with excellent success. She participated in various regional and national competitions, winning numerous awards and recognitions. She graduated in 2005 from the Faculty of Economics in Brčko as the top student of her class with a perfect grade point average of 10 (out of 10). During her studies, she was involved in the teaching process, working as a teaching assistant (demonstrator) in the subjects of Political Economy, Finance, and English Language. In 2005, she completed mediator training organized by the Office of the High Representative (OHR) Brčko & Drouin Learning Solutions.
She enrolled in postgraduate studies in 2005 at the Faculty of Economics in Brčko, majoring in "Management in Accounting and Auditing." She passed all the required courses with an average grade of 10 (out of 10). She defended her master's thesis entitled "External Financial Audit in the Function of Managing Public Companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina" on March 12, 2008, at the Faculty of Economics in Brčko, becoming the first postgraduate student to do so, and earned the academic title of Master of Economic Sciences. She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "The Competitiveness of Transition Economies with Special Reference to Bosnia and Herzegovina" on November 28, 2014, at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tuzla, thereby obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Social Sciences in the field of Economics.
She has been employed at the Faculty of Economics in Brčko, University of East Sarajevo, since 2006 — first as a Teaching Assistant, then from 2010 as a Senior Teaching Assistant, from 2016 as an Assistant Professor, and from 2021 as an Associate Professor in the narrower scientific field of Theoretical Economics (subjects: Fundamentals of Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Price Theory, and Methodology of Scientific Research). She is the author of the university textbook Fundamentals of Economics and numerous scientific and professional papers published both domestically and internationally. She has participated in many international conferences and scientific gatherings. She speaks English fluently.
She is the representative of the Faculty of Economics in Brčko at the Scientific Council of the Research Institute of the Faculty of Economics in Pale and a member of the Postgraduate Studies Committee at the Faculty of Economics in Brčko. She also serves as a reviewer for international journals such as Acta Scientiarum Polonorum, Oeconomia (Warsaw, Poland).
